AdventHealth Whole Health Institute is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in suburban Kansas City who is passionate about whole-person, evidence-based care. The ideal candidate is committed to spending meaningful time with patients, addressing the root contributors to chronic disease, and helping patients achieve lasting health and vitality.
The Whole Health Institute is a cash-based, consultative practice offering extended appointments, comprehensive evaluations, and individualized treatment plans. Providers combine conventional medicine with functional, integrative, lifestyle, culinary, naturopathic, and nutrition-focused approaches to improve long-term health and quality of life.
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive, whole-person patient evaluations.
- Manage complex chronic conditions, including metabolic, cardiovascular, hormonal, thyroid, gastrointestinal, autoimmune, inflammatory, and fatigue-related concerns.
- Interpret conventional and advanced laboratory testing.
- Develop individualized plans incorporating nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, supplementation, and evidence-based therapies.
- Use sound clinical judgment, including identifying when referral or additional evaluation is needed.
- Educate patients and support sustainable behavior change.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team.
- Contribute to program development, quality initiatives, innovation, and growth.
- Represent the Institute through community education, presentations, webinars, and outreach.
- Stay current with research and best practices in functional, integrative, lifestyle, nutrition, and obesity medicine.

Qualifications:
- Active Kansas license or eligibility for licensure as an APRN or PA
- Missouri licensure or eligibility strongly preferred for telehealth
- Strong clinical foundation and ability to manage complex patient presentations
- Commitment to patient-centered, lifestyle-focused care
Preferred:
- Certification in Functional, Integrative, Lifestyle, or Obesity Medicine; clinical nutrition; or a comparable evidence-based field
- Five or more years of relevant clinical experience
- Experience interpreting advanced laboratory testing and developing individualized treatment plans
- Expertise in nutrition, physical activity, metabolic health, sleep, stress management, and sustainable behavior change

AdventHealth South Overland Park, located at 7820 West 165th Street, Overland Park, Kansas, is a non-profit, full-service hospital campus serving southern Johnson County and the Kansas City metro area. Opened in October 2021 as the first new hospital in the region in 15 years, it expanded from an outpatient campus established in 2017, which included a 26,000-square-foot emergency department, lab, imaging center, and medical office building.
