AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, a leading faith based not for profit health system, is searching for an experienced Medical Oncology APP for our outpatient Cancer Institute.
About our Employed Oncology group:
- Our group consists of 3 Gynecologic Oncology Surgeons, 3 Gynecologic Oncology APPs, 5 Medical Oncologists, 2 Medical Oncology APPs, 1 High Risk Breast APP, and 1 Radiation Oncologist.
- This APP would work directly with our 5 Medical Oncologists.

Breast Medical Oncologist
AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, Kansas City
Located in suburban Kansas City, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is searching for a dynamic, energetic, and team-oriented fellowship-trained oncologist with a specialized focus in breast cancer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge, patient centered care to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer, while also contributing to general oncology services. We are looking to grow our subspecialty oncology programs in breast, thoracic, GI and GU. Highly qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply.
We have six oncologists in our group today and we are continuing to expand, both in specialization and in our new $70 million Cancer Institute located on the Shawnee Mission campus. Our physician team continues to grow around Gyn Oncology, Breast Oncology, Thoracic Oncology, Neuro Oncology, and other surgical oncology specialties. Rotation of call would be shared with the other physicians in the practice, including weekends. New physician would have access to research, clinical trials, tumor boards and a multidisciplinary care team consisting of nurse navigators, dietician, social workers, oncology rehab, palliative medicine, and patient financial navigators.

AdventHealth is seeking an experienced and visionary physician leader to serve as Executive Medical Director (EMD) of the AdventHealth Cancer Institute (AHCI) . This individual will spearhead the continued growth of our regional oncology program, build upon our national partnership, and collaborate closely with physician leaders in our region to expand access to advanced, patient-centered cancer care. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and growing oncology services lines and expanding into other subspecialized tumor sites.

Role Overview
The Executive Medical Director will:
- Lead the strategic growth and performance of cancer services across the Mid-America Region, which encompasses four hospitals and multiple clinics in the Kansas City area.

The new CT surgeon will be able to perform a variety of cases including coronary bypass, valvular repair/replacement, catheter-based structural heart procedures and general thoracic cases working alongside a multidisciplinary and growing team of seven general cardiologists, five interventionalists, and two electrophysiologists. The team has a large compliment of cardiovascular APPs, including a CTS PA model facilitating cardiovascular care. ICU care is also enhanced by our dedicated critical care intensivists team.
